Caitlin's Montessori Graduation

We are so proud of our little girl! She has learned so much since August 2008 at her Montessori school. On May 21st the school had a graduation ceremony. Caitlin was so excited about the day - she got to dress-up in a cap & gown! Also, she got to play the part of the birdie in the play "Peter and the Wolf after the ceremony. She also gave a speech (her teacher Ms. Ginger asked a few kids from the class to do so) that was so cute and perfect, that someone in the audience said after she was done, "now, she's going to college!" We know our little girl is smart, but we've made the decision to let her go to Kindergarten instead of skipping to 1st Grade (against the advice that the teachers at her school have given). We want her to have the K-Garten experience and to be with kids her age. We think she'll do just fine and won't get bored - that she'll enjoy helping others in her class when she's done with her work. She's just a great person all around and we couldn't be happier :)

Caitlin's Graduation Speech

Hi, my name is Caitlin.

I am about to be 5 years old and have been coming to Cypress Montessori for 9 months.

My teachers are Ms. Ginger and Ms. Amanda and Ms. Michelle.

Some things that I’ve learned this year have been:
- Math
- Reading
- Telling time
- Life cycle of a butterfly
- Musical instruments and
- How to make a bird feeder.

My favorite parts of school are:
- Writing
- Reading
- Math and
- Lunch.
