Madison Updates and Pics from Weeks 15, 16, 17 (She's 4 Months!!) and 18

I know, I'm about a month behind on posting, but here goes!!

Madison is growing like a weed!! I think she's going to be our "big" girl! :) LOL She's wearing sizes 6-9 months and some 12 months clothes!! We went to her 4 month check-up last Tuesday for more shots and the much anticipated weigh in. I thought she'd be at least 16 pounds (she seems to gain a pound and add an inch each day!!!) but her statistics were: 15 pounds 5 1/2 ounces and 25 1/2 inches long. She's in the 90th percentile for both height and weight!! Her appointment was so uneventful because she's so healthy (Praise God!) that all we talked about was starting foods :) We've started rice cereal twice a day while still getting in at least 30 oz. of either breast milk or formula. We'll be starting veggies and fruits soon because this girl loves her food, I tell you what!! I can’t feed the cereal to her fast enough – she makes noises and either bats at me with her hand or kicks at me with her foot to go faster!!!!!!!!!! And she opens her mouth really wide! LOL

I am going to go ahead and finally announce: WE ARE DONE WITH COLIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hallelujah, Praise the Lord, from whom all blessings flow!!! It ended a few days before her 4 month birthday. I don't know how we survived so long without proper sleep but somehow we did! She is still sleeping with us in bed and the feedings are getting less and less during the night because of the cereal before bedtime, so I'm hoping I can use a weekend coming up soon to try to move her to her crib (or at least see what happens when I do!). Oh how I long to just sleep next to my hubby alone for at least one night and not have to worry about hitting a baby in my sleep!!

Madison is such a happy baby - smiling ALL the time and especially when we talk to her. She does not like to be put down though. Chris calls her a "Titty Baby!" :) LOL) So I'm sure I created a monster for the three months I got at home with her but I loved every minute!!

She is doing so much talking these days - babbling, I guess it's really called. We keep trying to hear mama or dada in there somewhere!

Cait loves to entertain her little sissy! Madison just smiles and laughs away at her silly big sissy!

Madison has found her feet! She pretty much folds herself in half while in the bouncy chair in order to play with them - I'm not trusting that chair anymore when I'm not watching her. She might just tumble out!! She's getting put into the Exersaucer more these days. It's growing on her. She gets frustrated about not being able to reach all the toys around her though!

I don't think I've mentioned on here before, but for the record - Madison LOVES her baths! She is calm and splashes around and smiles the whole time. It also makes her very sleepy (something this mommy loves very much!!)

I think I posted on FaceBook that Madison has rolled from her back to her front. She's only done it a few times but I know she'll do it again if given the chance. Now she's armed and dangerous!!!!!

There is so much to say but so little time (and I can't remember all the things she's been doing lately - they're written on my calendar at home and I'm at work right now!!)

So...I'll leave you with some pics :)

Have a good one!
Love,
Amanda

P.S. Please keep Caitlin in your prayers if you can. She's having a hard time at school (and at home) - she's been getting herself into trouble lately (not listening, not following rules, lying...). This is pretty new to all of us and we are trying to get a handle on it now. It is so tough being a parent - discipline is so hard!

Finally! Christmas 2009 pics (plus other pics from Madison's 13th and 14th weeks)

I have hated not being able to blog in the recent weeks. I’ve missed you guys!! How are you? I’ve tried to check in on you via blogs and FaceBook (and some email), but haven’t done that great a job. With Madison’s continued colic (which I hope to announce soon that it’s officially over!) which has led to Chris and I getting absolutely no sleep whatsoever (and still having to drag ourselves to the office!!), going back to work, Christmas, New Year’s, Caitlin going back to school after Christmas break, Chris finding out he has something wrong with his neck and back (the pain is almost unbearable) and just regular life getting in the way, I have had to stay away from my blog. But, with my hope that the c-word (I am leery of talking about this out loud!!?? EEEK!) is finally over (after almost 17 weeks = almost 4 months!!) I hope to be able to blog semi-regularly again (or when significant events occur in the Hoyt Family) :) Whew, that was a long sentence!!

Hope you can make it through this post - it is LOOONNNG! I took over 240 pictures at Christmas time so I posted the best ones in this post (so there are lots!!) :)

We went to church with Grammy, MeMe and Grandpa on Christmas Eve. We opened gifts at our house (just our family of 4) on Christmas morning and then went to MeMe & Grandpa's house for Christmas dinner and more gifts where we were joined by Grammy and Uncle Mike.

We had a great Holiday together and especially since it was Madison's first Christmas! She got to wear cute dresses and socks and I made sure to take pics of all of them!! :) LOL

So, without further adieu, here are our Christmas 2009 pics (and some from the weeks surrounding Christmas to document Madison's weekly (13 & 14) growth and experiences). She is now 4 months old (17+ weeks so I have some catching up to do!!)

Daddy's big Christmas present

My famous dips - Chili/Cheese over Cream Cheese & Apple/Pineapple Jelly/Horseraddish over Cream Cheese - all with crackers - YUMMO!!

MeMe & Grandpa's beautiful dining room

Cait's first Ken doll!

Here's Dakota in her Twinkle Toes :)

Joy's Christmas present (Gumby) - she ate his arm off right away!

This is sooo her daddy's lip!

She was so happy that Santa brought her a Liv doll!

She lost her 4th front tooth on Christmas Eve! I asked her when The Tooth Fairy would show up...

...Then I asked when Santa would show up...Our house was popular and busy on Christmas Eve!!

Can't remember why Cait had a fit before church, but I had to document it...

They say your baby should be 4 months old to use the ExerSaucer...we put her in at 3!! :)

She kind of likes it...I think it's growing on her.

My Christmas gift from Madison: she slept in her crib for 15 minutes (longest ever!) and when she woke up and would not go back to sleep in crib, we both started sleeping in our bed (moved from couch) on 12/25/09 after 3 months in living room (to let Dad get rest while Mom stayed home and baby cried all night...) It's so nice to be in my bed again!! I can feed her there without really "waking up" and she sleeps most of the night as long as I'm there :)
