July 31, 2005 - Today We Played with Taylor

Today Miss Taylor Ayon (across the street neighbor) came over to play while her parents saw The Phantom of the Opera. We had a great time running and playing with all of Caitlin's toys. We played in her playhouse and with her kitchen. We played puzzles and with Elmo. It was a fun day and Caitlin especially had fun playing with Taylor! Here are some shots from today...

I wish you could have been here to see this one! She kept running up to the playpen and smashing her face up against it - creating these priceless smiles of pressed lip and nose!! It was hilarious! Here is one - not of the greatest quality due to the mesh material in between me and Caitlin - but at least we can all think of this and laugh! She's such a ham!

July 24, 2005 - Hoyt Family Update

Hi To Everyone!

Just wanted to update you on some of Miss Caitlin's newest cute-ism's...

1) She does a "cookie dance" when she eats a cookie. This is a dance that we've only seen when she has this sweet treat. It's kind of a wiggle of the hips with some foot stomping and head tilting. Just cute as can be!

2) She knows what the word (when said by one of us) "COOKIE" means. If we don't want her to have a cookie at that particular moment, we have to spell it to each other!

3) She is heading toward the (do I really want to say it??) "Terrible Two's"! She gets impatient and demanding often and can give some really not so good looks to us! The bad look she gives looks a lot like Chris's bad look!!

4) She's running everywhere.

5) She has definitely got a love for shoes. We went to a shoe store recently and she acted like she was in heaven. Running around crazy, picking up every shoe she could and breathing heavily like she was out of breath. We knew she loved shoes (always wanting to play with or put on our shoes) but this is quite amazing to watch her in action!!

Besides being the love of our lives, Caitlin is just so much fun. Always keeping us on our toes and always giving us that beautiful smile!!

July 17, 2005 - "Da-Da" Catches Cait while she Sleeps

July 11 - 14, 2005 - Chris in Idaho

From July 11 through July 14, Chris had to go to Boise, Idaho for a HP conference (for work). He got to go white water rafting, went to a Georgia O'Keeffe Museum and to the headquarters of HP there. He had fun, but we missed "Da-Da"!!

July 10, 2005 - Updates from The Hoyt's

Some recent updates from The Hoyt's include:

1) Amanda got a new job!! She's very happy at her new place of employment. She's been getting home at a normal hour (6 pm usually) and this new opportunity is going to mean great things for us in the future. We are very happy. Yeah, MOMMY!

2) Caitlin is finally saying "MaMa", "Mom", and even "Mommy"!! It's so nice to hear this - finally!! It seems that she actually prefers to say "Mommmm". She's so cute!

3) Caitlin is recently VERY affectionate with us. She's giving us "Love Pats" and is just generally more loving these past few weeks.

July 5, 2005 - Caitlin could not get enough of Daddy's Vanilla Ice Cream. She finally looked at me while I was taking pictures of her with this cute and satisfied smile.

Caitlin is Really Understanding...

It's so amazing! Caitlin is really understanding pretty much whatever we say to her; and she's coming up with her own ways to communicate to us!

Here are some examples that I can think of:

We ask her to wipe her hair (she LOVES to play with baby wipes) and she does it.
We ask her where her bandaid is (she LOVES to have a bandaid on even if there's no "booboo") and she points to it (or where it would be on her wrist if she had one - then she HAS to have one!!)
If you ask her where her shoes are, she looks down at her feet!
When she's ready for her naps or to have a drink, she goes to the fridge and points to either the freezer portion (for a teething ring) or to the fridge portion (for a bottle).
If she has a toy and we ask her to bring it to one of us, she does.
If we ask where her blanky is she'll go look around the house for it!

Those are just a few examples, but she amazes us EVERYDAY.
