Madison's 9 week pics and 2 month doctor appt. update

Our tiniest girl is growing up!! Madison weighed in yesterday at a whopping 12 pounds 12 ounces! She beat out her big sister by 7 ounces at this age!! She's in the 96-97 percentile for weight now. She's now 23.5 inches long (90th percentile for height)!

Her pedi said she looks healthy to her :) Also, Madison was talking and smiling at the doctor yesterday. That was cute!

We did get to discuss our biggest concern with the doctor yesterday - we think we've been dealing with reflux lately with Miss Madison. The doctor was not completely convinced it was reflux but thought more along the lines of just colic but prescribed Zantac anyway so I think we'll give it a try. She's been spitting up almost every time I feed her, she's very fussy (when she's not smiling, talking or sleeping :)) and she hates to be laid flat on her back - all signs of reflux. We'd hate to not get it treated and it last too long and cause more problems! So, hopefully the Zantac will work OR she'll grow out of it (if it's colic) in 1 month or so.

We are working on moving Madi to her crib this week (seems like a good plan since I return to work in exactly 3 weeks). Not sure which night we will actually try the "sleeping in the crib" thing, but for now, we're just putting her in there during the day for trial runs and naps and seeing how it goes. Today when we tried it she seemed to like it okay. We'll see how it goes after dark :)

Here are some pics from Madison's 9th week and yesterday after she got her 4 shots (poor baby!) and one oral vaccine. She cried after the shots for a few seconds and then was fine. She was irritable the rest of the night but today she's been okay.

Kindergarten Stuff

Cait's been busy so far in Kindergarten!
Well, busy having fun that is. She's a little ahead in the learning department since she attending Montessori for the last year so when we ask what she did or learned in school today she always replies, "nothing...it was boring...I already know that stuff..."
She's reading at a 1st grade level and her teacher is very proud of her and says she's the leader of the class when it comes to what she knows. She's able to help other students when they are having trouble learning concepts which is great - we were hoping she could do that (and her Montessori teacher told us that this was something she might be able to do in Kindergarten).
She does have a "talking to friends" issue that we are working on. Cait is our social butterfly and loves to talk! She's apparently talking when the teacher is talking and the teacher has a "look" she gives now and then Cait stops. We told her that if she does not improve this by next grading period then there will be consequences. We'll see if she listens...
Our little beauty queen also has several boyfriends (which makes us a little worried - she's only in kindergarten!!). One of whom (Cade) she walks into school holding hands with each day from the car rider line (we know this from both Cait and Big Mamma (the babysitter))! EEEK!!!
Anyway, I guess we're going to have our hands full over the next 13 years or so with this one!! :) LOL

Madison's 6 week pics and Halloween 2009 at the Hoyt House

Last week was quite busy with Madison Grace turning 6 weeks and Halloween going on...

Madison is really smiling and talking to us (especially to her Daddy) more each and everyday! Most of the pics below where she's smiling she's doing so with Daddy. This is a big thing since she was an all Mommy's girl for the first 4 weeks or so!

We had a great time on Halloween - the whole family (Grammy, Uncle Mike, MeMe and Grandpa) all came over to our house and Daddy made chili. Uncle Mike and Daddy took Caitlin (the Angel) to the neighborhood Halloween festival and then everyone went trick-or-treating except for me, Madison, MeMe and Grandpa. The neighbors (with their kids Taylor and Spencer) went trick-or-treating with Caitlin too.

P.S. Thank you for your prayers. I am getting more sleep. Madison is sleeping now 3.5 to 4 hours at a time - still on me on the couch but that is more than 0 hours! :) I will be working towards getting her into her bed (or the Pack N Play) this next week. My good friend Devin just sent me the BabyWise book. I hope it can help me to get Madison on a better schedule and into her own bed very soon. Thank you, Devin!!
