January 24, 2006 - Caitlin Love Update

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well...We are busier than ever with our toddler who is approaching 2 years old, I can't believe it!! Caitlin is very active and loves to talk! She's even saying some phrases now and can repeat the entire alphabet. We are very proud of our little girl and hope you enjoy reading about her newest words/activities:

1) She has started saying "No."
2) She has said "dude" and "amen" (with Missy)
3) She is now scared of bugs. She used to love ladybugs, dragonflies, and bees - now she's very afraid of those things.
4) On New Years Eve, she was deathly afraid of the fireworks and kept saying "No No Boom Boom!" She was up most of the night in her bed with the covers up to her chin, eyes wide open scared of the "boom booms."
5) She's very helpful when I'm doing laundry. She'll help carry it to the laundry room and will hand clothes to me to put into the washer.
6) One day when I was playing on the floor with her, I started to laugh a lot and she reached out to me to give me a kiss on the face...she's very loveable and loves to hug and kiss.
7) She says "hi ya'll," "bye ya'll" and "hey."
8) She has said "open that" (with Missy)
9) She says "Joy" and "Daddy" now. She used to only say "Jo" and "Dada."
10) She says "Me home," "Me eat," "Joy eat," "Dada home," "Me nana" (for banana), and "Me bath."
11) She loves the movie "Finding Nemo" and loves to talk about "Memo." When you ask her what a fish does she does "fish lips" and then says "Memo."
12) Cait LOVES popcorn!
13) She has said "cute" and "mail" (with Big Mamma)
14) She has begun to open and close doors. Those door knob covers work wonders :)
15) She can go up and down the stairs at Big Mamma's house all by herself (with Big Mamma behind or ahead of her, of course) :)
16) When she sees an "A" or an "I" she recognizes the letters!
17) She says "eat."
18) She says "Me" and "I" for herself. When you ask where Caitlin is, she points to her chest!
19) She says "oink oink" for a pig and for oranges.
20) She says "meow" for a cat.
21) She has said "thank you" (with Big Mamma)
22) She says "Yee Haw!"
23) She walks on her tippe toes sometimes.
24) She has said "this is mine."
25) She says "Whoa!"
26) She says "please" or "pease"
27) She says "knock knock."
28) She says "boy" and "the boy."
29) She has said "toy"
30) As you can see from the pictures, we got her a big girl bed and tried it out on Sunday...it didn't go very well, so we just put the mattress back into her crib. We'll try again some other time, but she's just not ready for that yet...she kept coming out of her room and thought it was play time! :)
31) Caitlin likes to talk on the phone - especially to me when driving home at night.

Caitlin is our pride and joy and we love her to pieces! She's the sweetest thing!
